Lenten Jesus Tree

Lesley Stahl

The Lenten Jesus Tree is an opportunity to retell the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection throughout Lent. It is a follow-up to the Advent "Jesse Tree" which told the story of creation until the birth of Christ.

Each day there is an image for kids to color and attach to the cross, along with a corresponding verse or passage to be read. It only takes a few minutes each day, so it's a great thing to do at breakfast, dinner, or before bed.

At church you can pick up a large purple cross (the Lenten color of royalty!) along with the ornament page and list of verses. Or, if you aren't able to come to church in person right now, you can download and print them yourself. (Credit: catholicsprouts.com)

List of daily verses:

Mini ornaments to color:

Cross with circles: (it's "tabloid" size, 11x17, can be printed on to two sheets of 8.5x11)
